Review: My Federation
The Prince Albert - The Great Escape
19th May 2007
I love these guys... I interviewed them a few weeks ago after a tip-off from a fellow music lover. They did Brighton proud in the little venue. It was out of the way and I had to totter there on my lonesome but it was worth it. The place was perfectly packed (in every way as Miss Poppins would say) and it looked like it's a venue popular to the locals - festival or no festival. Great, relaxed vibe and an intimate stage that reminded me a bit of The Dublin Castle in Camden... just a tad less grubby.
The manager (I assume) introduced the line-up with what can only be described as pure pride on his face. His smile was infectious and when Lee Muddy Baker and his band hit the stage, they made more of an impression than hit ultra-beige suit...
Read the interview if you want to know more... or watch the video. Each song had a wow factor and I have a feeling I'll look back at this gig in a few years time muttering "I can't believe I saw them in such an intimate venue..."
They'll be BIG, it's just a matter of time 'til they spread the 'happy' all over the globe. Catch them while you can - don't say I didn't warn you.
